produced by Dave Mehling, “Say Yes” captures Sarah Morris and her bandmates at a creative peak, recorded over an intensive four days and nights at Pachyderm Studios. Born from a year-long residency at The White Squirrel that deepened the musicians’ creative trust, the album explores the central question: “How much are we allowed to desire?”
With its dream-like quality and unexpected harmonic turns, “Say Yes” invites listeners into a world of beautiful risk-taking and emotional honesty. Morris and her collaborators—including longtime band members Lars Erik Larson, Nick Salisbury, and Haley E. Rydell—create a supple, layered sound that captures both the vulnerability and strength found in saying yes to life’s tumbling uncertainties. The album title emerged during listening sessions on Minnesota’s North Shore, where Morris was moved to tears by a line from the song “Love,” realizing that embracing the unknown—the creative leap itself—might be what transforms us most.
