a neat little story about where some of my songs have come from…
A while ago, I was approached by a writer/blogger who specializes in looking at divorce to talk about the inspiration behind some of my songs. Based on the content of some of the songs on “Lonely or Free”, she guessed that I must be divorced, which of course, I’m not. But all of my songs are true stories, and if they aren’t exactly my story, then they are the story of someone near and dear to me. I maybe, just a little, have a tendency to get super-involved in my friends’ lives, so I often find myself inspired by the events in their lives, both happy and sad. So ANYWAYS, I did finally get a chance to meet with Emma Wilhelm, the writer who contacted me, and we had a lovely little night speaking about the inspiration behind two of my songs, “Good Fight”, and “Changed Your Mind”. Sample Night Live! First Wednesday of the New Year! Yay!

Holiday Shows, round 2! AND….new CD!!
Oh lordy, I am so excited for this weekend. For starters, I have 4 shows in 4 days. Yes Ma’am that is good stuff! ANNNNNDDD since it is so close to Christmas I get to sing all they holiday songs I want to! Yay! I can’t wait! Please check out my shows page for details, but just to sum it up we have…Ingredients Cafe, Republic/Aux 1, Dellwood Country Club/and Red Stag! Thomas Nordlund will be with me, playing amazing guitar at every show, and Eric Blomquist will be with me on Saturday and Sunday (yay! Eric is wonderful, and shares my deep love for holiday songs, as well as my strong DISlike of the Annie Lennox cover of “Winter Wonderland”…we’re practically soulmates!). Then, at the Red Stag on Monday, the whole band will be out to play some holiday tunes while everyone around us eats delicious (and locally-sourced) foodstuffs… THEN. On Friday, at 5ish, I get to pick up 500 copies of my Brand-New CD, Lonely or Free. !!!!! I can’t wait. It was such an amazing process putting it together, I got to work with ridiculously talented people (ahem, Kevin Steinman – producer and multi-instrumentalist), and then my awesome husband Aleksi put it all together into a pretty package (made of pictures by the blow-your-mind-good photographer Corina Bernstein). 8 little originals of mine (7 true stories, and one song that is just plain fun to sing!), all available for $10. I will bringing it out to each of my shows, along with my covers album, Grateful Moon, in case you wanted to support local musicians for Christmas! New Website! Holiday Shows! New CD!
Welcome to the new website! Ooh, I am so excited about it! Sara H. from Xylo Entertainment did an awesome job putting it together and making me look cooler! Yay! Check out the show schedule, I have oodles of Holiday shows coming up in the next few weeks, I love me some holiday music! Also – very, very soon I will have a brand new CD to share with everyone. Entitled “Lonely or Free”, it has 8 of my original tunes, and was produced by the super-dee-duper talented Kevin Steinman, and recorded at Waterbury Studios, with Eric Blomquist at the dials.
